Transmission fluid is black. Is there a problem I should be aware of when I take the car to the dealership tomorrow?

There might be however you won't know till they take the pan off and see whats in it. Do you tow alot with it? Usually black fluid indicates slipping or towing and over working or overheating the trans.

No towing at all. Used mostly on highway. Auto transmission works fine no smells or noises.
I will ask dealer to inspect pan. They initially just want to change the fluid.

Changing the fluid is needed but I would ask what is in the pan. If there is a trans problem coming then there will be debri in the pan and being that the drive train should be still under warranty now it the time to take care of it.

Thanks for this great service! I am pleased to be able to ask intelligent questions when I take the car for service.
