Vehicle listed above is an XB. I plan to purchase KYB or OEM Toyota shocks. I have heard that sometimes the rubber bushings are not included. I know that this will be a pretty straight forward replacement, but I was hoping for the factory procedures and specs along with any experience that relates to the rubber bushings on replacement shocks. I have always replaced bushings with new shocks. Any experience with this? Thanks

Hello,

Even if those bushing can be re-used, I would recommend you replace them. Personally, I do not like to install any old bushings. And since you will have everything apart anyways, it will be best to have new components.

I have attached the replacement procedure for the rear shock as well as the torque specifications below.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

I agree new rubber bushings are the best way to go. I was just asking since it appears many folks on the internet say that shocks do not come with new bushings. I plan to go to the dealer to price a new pair of rears. KYB can be had for about $65.00 on Amazon, but I would pay a little more to have OEM Toyota parts. Thanks for the procedures and diagrams. It is exactly what I need. The exploded view diagram helps a lot. I will let you know how it turns out.

I went to the dealer, and they quoted $67.00 for each OEM rear strut. According to the parts clerk the OEM parts come with all the bushings necessary as depicted in the exploded view diagram. Part # was 48530-80420. They are not in stock, so I have to order them.
