I have a car with 60k miles on it. Recently both left and right blinkers flash too fast. They will start blinking normal and then after about 3 seconds start blinking fast for about 5 seconds or longer than slow down to normal again, then speed back up. Always different amount of time blinking fast and slow. When this happens the dash says check rear tail light bulb of which ever side the blinker is turned on. All bulbs in the car are good including the tail light bulbs which appear to be LEDs built into the factory tail lights. The hazards work fine. Any ideas?
Thank you for the help
Jon

Hi:

The system is designed to flash double time to indicate a bad bulb or something causing the bulb not to light. When it flashes fast, do the outside signals light?

Thank you for the response. When the turn signals are on, either right or left, all the same bulbs light. In the front the lower signals in the bumper blink, the side view mirrors blink and in the tail lights, all the leds in like the middle of the tail light blink, I would say about 8 leds are in the strip. Seems weird both sides do the same thing. But thinking maybe it has to do with the tail lamps since the info screen says check right or left tail lamp. Are there any other lights in the tail light that is supposed to light up instead of just the leds strip?
Thanks for the help

If I had to guess, I would think either the flasher itself or there is a weak ground.

Hello,

The system does not have a flasher it uses the BCM to work the blinker lights. I would start by replacing all of the bulbs with new to see if that helps.

Here is the wiring diagrams for you so you can see (BELOW)

Please let us know what you find ;)

Cheers, Ken
