Shifting cable replacement?

The previous owner had spilled soda or a similar sticky substance into the shifting cable. I've been working on replacing it, and have come into issues with the inverted bolt and where to find it. Do I have to jack up the car and remove a heat shield or similar guard to access it and remove the metal plate inside the car behind the foam and insulation where the first three bolts were? Any advice or diagrams would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi,

That is correct. The last bolt is accessed from under the vehicle. You need to remove the heat shield from the catalytic converter to access it.

Additionally, if you are replacing the cable, you will need to remove the air box, battery, and battery tray.

I attached the directions below for you. The installation is the reverse of the removal. Also, the last two pics are the directions for adjusting the cable once it is installed.
