This trucks has the issue of a bad radiator. usually the radiator coolant contaminates the transmission and the transmission goes bad. i was wondering if i could add a transmission cooler and just independent the transmission from the radiator. i called the nissan dealer and had said it was not recommended. that the truck was just fine but i'd like to prevent a transmission failure. what do you think?

I'll be honest, I don't see what it would hurt. The radiator you have is really no different than an auxiliary transmission cooler. What I would do is check around and see what you can find. Just make sure you get a good one that can do the job and not something undersized. Also, check into seeing if there is a way to run a transmission temp gauge from the new cooler. That way you can keep an eye on it all the time.
