Thank you very much for your answer. But I just found out that Nissan has a recall for that senser. The location heats up the senser and the check engine light goes on. The recall was on 8/28/06.

I used your information to find this in "Pro-demand"

However, all four sub models have a 2.4l engine.

The picture below is what I found.

Four cylinder front wheel drive automatic.

I need to replace the crankshaft position sensor on my car. I cannot find it to save my life. My Haynes manual shows it on the front of the transmission right below the distributor. Not there! Someone else told me to follow the wire coming out of the front of the distributor. That wire is bundled together with about four other wires. Can anybody just tell me exactly where to find this sensor?

The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is located in the distributor. Below are some diagrams to help you see what I am talking about.

Thanks for using 2CarPros. Com!

Cheers!

I am having a similar issue. The parts house sold me a crank sensor but your diagram shows it in the distributor, but I have seen a different diagram showing the cam sensor is in the distributor and that is what the parts house is telling me too. But I am like this guy I could not find it where it is supposed to be.

Going by what I can find on the US 2.4L. It shows the crankshaft position sensor on the lower area of the block facing the radiator. The camshaft position sensor and the power transistor are in the distributor. That corresponds with the wiring diagram as well.
