2010 Mitsubishi Outlander Hi Changeing Brakes On This Car Today Noticed Rear

Hi, i was changeing the brakes on this car today, and i noticed the rear brakes are both disc and drum....not sure why this is, can you possibly tell me the purpose of this?

The drum brake inside the rear rotor is the parking brake. That's a much better design than what Ford and GM use. Chrysler has always used the "drum in hat" design like you have. It's very trouble-free and it makes the disc brakes easy to service.
