It is critical for the system to operated that the correct weight of refrigerant is added to much or to little will cause the system to shut down, pressure readings are the best way to check for initial problems, you must check this first.

My A/C and Heat stoped working maybe 3 years ago. When it stop working I found a puddle on the passenger side of my 02 mit lancer. When I drive you can faintly feel the heat/A/C working expecially when I drive fast. Cant you tell me what might be the problem

The puddle was on the inside of the car, it appeard to be just water.

Lay a hose on roof and let the water run down the windshield. On the side the water on for 15 minutes unless u see water. If it was the heater u would see coolant not water.U most likely have a water leak. Coming from a opening in a firewall gromet or a split body seam.

We don't have the lancer in our books. My suggestion is check the fuse but unless you can see it really good, I would use an ohm meter. Then check the relay by swapping it with another like one. If it still doesn't work then put 12 volts to the fan plug - so one is positive and one is ground and see if your fan turns. If it does't the fan motor is bad.
