2010 Mazda 3 Air conditioner

Turn on the air conditioner. Have a squealing noise coming from the ac. Seems like it comes on when the compressor kicks in. Don't really hear it when it is off. What could be the problem?

It sounds like the belt is slipping. That could just be a bad or loose belt or it could be a serious problem with the compressor seizing up. You need to check the belt first.
