I noticed that when i get to bumpy sections of the road, the rear end of the jeep rattles and bounces a lot before it smoothens out. what is wrong.

Also when i put on the AC, it cools alright but has this putrid smell. I have to roll down the windows and leave the ac running for close to 1 hr before the putrid smells go out of the system.

Get the rear suspension struts checked for soft operation and any signs of leaking, as for the a/c ensure that the drain tube is not blocked as the smell will be mould and mildew growing in the vents of the system, you can get a desensitizer designed for auto A/c systems to help with this problem.
