I bought my Kia cerato in august 2011 as a demo model with 1000km on it. I thought the surging and bad change from 1st to 2nd was from me not being used to the clutch during the test drive. 4 mths later the car still loses power then surges forward with the 1st to 2nd gear change no matter who drives it. The only way to avoid the surge is to change from 1st to 2nd almost instantly and before reaching 10km. It also surges if you put it in 1st and let it move without touching the accelerator. I have also notice a slight knocking noise from the engine upon start up. Should I be concerned or is this just an annoying characteristic of my car.
