Someone messed with my electric rear view mirror but pushing it until it clicked and moved. It still works and looks fine from the outside. Does that usually cause inner damage to it and is that anything to worry about?

The mirror is designed for flexibility so it can be manually folded but when age catches up, the motor gears can be damaged if it is manually folded or turned outwards too often.

As hmac30 mentioned, don't worry if it is working correctly.
