what size tires should this car have, and would I benefit from using larger diameter tires / rims?

Standard tires are 175/65R15.
Larger rim diameter means lower profile tires. Handling during hard cornerings would be better but ride would be harsher and uncomfortable/bumpy as you would be feeling road shocks more. Tires would be more expensive and so would be the rims.
