Should the red flashing light on the dash keep flashing when locking the car

I know it sounds daft but I have only just noticed the flashing light on the dash going all the time when the car is locked should this be . The car is a Honda Insight. 2010

on most cars supplied with a security light yes! look in the owners manual, it will be in there. If it isn't a security light I will need you to be a little more specific about which light it is... perhaps upload a picture
