Hello there! I've made this video about my 2010 civic:

The engine makes a strange noise at around 900 Rpm. Do you have any idea what this can be? Best wishes: Rp

Have the timing belt tension and valve clearances checked.

Thank you for the answer! Tomorrow I take the car to the Honda service for the 40.000 km oil change. I will tell the mechanics to check the timing belt tension and the valve clearances as well! Thanks again!

You're welcome.
Our database only has information for 1.8 and 2.0 L engine so I do not know if your vehicle is equipped with chain or belt.

Most new model vehicles are equipped with timing chains and if yours is equipped with chain instead of belts, it could be the chains or a lubrication issue.

Hi there! I am very disappointed right now with my Honda dealer. As I told you before I went to the service for the oil change and told them to check the timing chains and the valve clearances and they looked at me as I'd came from Mars... They've made the regular 40.000 service and nothing else. I am 60.000 HUF (approx. 300 USD) thinner and the problem still remains. According to them 99 out of 100 buyers wouldn't even recognize such noise issue. So what? Anyway, my car has the 1.6 liter engine (125 hp) with chain belt. Now I am seriously considering to sell it and buy a Toyota. :-)
