Shuts off like it's not getting any power... but only when you shift to reverse or drive.

scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge. auto parts rent it.

I meant the radio shuts off when you switch to reverse or drive. I started the truck this morning and it works just fine though... can a bad battery ground cause this?

bad batteries cause all type of problems get it checked including a load test.
