I have had an ongoing issue with the thermostat, starting 4 months after I purchased the vehicle brand new in 2010. They replaced it originally in 8/12, & stated it was a defective thermostat, & 2 months following that, they had to replace it again becasue the same issue represented itself. Here we are in 2012, and the same issue has presented itself. Check engine light on. I took it to Auto Zone & they did a reading of p0128 with probable cause: antifreeze (which was not low enough). Dun dun dun dun. Thermostat & last but not lease, etc sensor. Which I believe they replaced before. How likely do you think it is the thermostat, & probability on any other causes? Any contributions are appreciated!

There is a tsb on this, so you would needto know if it were performed on your car or not. The issue date is June 2011 so yours probably wasn't done, You might check with the dealer as you have a history of this happening. What happens is the tstat doesn't fit well engough and it tips into the block opening allowing the coolant to slip by the tstat. REferecne number 18-031-11 for tsb. If the dealer doesnt' want to fix it bitch to chrysler becaus you have a history of this. They replace the housing and a new shim to fix it. Hope this helps. I've included a pic off of their tsb.
