rear view mirror

any solution to 2010 audi a6 rear view mirror not holding to windshield clip. besides replacing for 1000.00

The mount is still attached to the glass I assume? For the price of the replacement glass or mirror for a thousand bucks I would consider a bonding agent (just a fancy name for glue) to hold it in place. Individual parts might also be available if there is something broken, without seeing the job with my own eyes, I am not sure.
