I have 6 speed manual transmission. When I press the clutch, the clicking stops. I notice the clicking noise a few days ago. When my car is idling, no noise. When I put my car in 1st gear, clicking begins, all the way thru 4th. At 5th and 6th, I don't hear it, but then road noise is much greater.
My car is 2009 VW GTi with 6 speed manual transmission. Aprox. 35K miles.

Possible the cv joint(s), usually the outer one next to the tire, check for slpit boots and grease thrown around the tire and inside wheel wells.
