brake lights not working

both side brake lights are out, only top one working, changed both bulbs, brake switch and fuse what next?

If the center high-mount brake light is working, you know the fuse and brake light switch are okay. When the center brake light is on a different circuit than the other two, the main two are switched through the turn signal switch. The clue is the side brake light bulb is the same one that lights up for the turn signal.

Thanks for this post I had this problem and replaced the turn signal switch all fixed! I love this site.
