Recently ive noticed a sort of turbo lag between second and third I thought at first it might the fuel filter but in the last 2 weeks theres an air like whooshing noise that gets louder as the revs go up then as I change gear it sort of releases abit like a dump valve then starts all over as I take the revs up again also when its sitting idle and you rev it up as the revs come back down it sort of goes pu-chu like airs getting stuck somewhere someone said my turbo might be on the way out but apart from the noise its not driving any different or smoking but my mechanic said unless he starts stripping it down he doesn't really have a clue

We have no info on this car but check your duct work for holes I'd say it may be on the intake side.

Its a 2009 astra 1.7 cdti eco flex and its like a build up of air that's not being released and its coming from somewhere near the main hose that goes from the engine to the intercooler and when you rev it up and hold the hose you can feel the build up of air from in there and then you hear the noise that sounds a bit like a dump valve

I'm not real familiar with turbos and we don't have any info on these anyhow but check to see if your dump valve is stuck in one position.
