When driving at 100-80 km/h the vehicle looses acceleration. You can be cruising along & then you loose all acceleration & have to stop. Even if you try to accelerate nothing happens. If you turn the vehicle off for 5 minutes then restart you can drive for a while before the same thing happens. It does not matter if you are on the flat, going up hill or going down hill. I live in a remote area & would like to know if you can tell me what the problem is.
Thank you for your time.
Regards
Ann

Ann:
Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure or has the fuel filter ever been replaced?

The check engine light has not come on & the fuel filter has never been replaced, according to Toyota it's not due to be replaced until 80,000km service & I have only done 60,000km. Haven't looked at fuel pump pressure yet. Just wanted an idea of what it could be.

Based on your description, it sounds like it is starved for fuel. That is where I would start.
