I need a new alternator for my 2009 Nissan Murano LE AWD.

The Nissan dealership is telling me that a new alternator is going to cost me more than $800.00. And labor will run less than $100.00.

Are they trying mess with me?

The generator for your vehicle appears to cost about double compared to other car brands. I suspect the dealer quoted you the price for a new one. No one buys a new generator unless the car is under warranty and the manufacturer is paying the bill. Ask for the price of a rebuilt unit. If they won't do that, go to an independent shop.
