Is it true that if you try to start a car which is in aproximately 3 ft of water ( a deep puddle from a deluge rainstrom) that you can "throw a rod" in the engine?

Yes if nair intake was underwater it would hydrolock engine bending rod

I've seen some real serious damage done to an engine that way.
