My car is having starting problems for last two years. When i turn on the keys for ignition, the starter will start and sometimes Engine will start right away( 20% times). On other occasions, the Engine will start but will stop after 5/10 sec. (10% times). However, most of the times, the Engine will make noise but wont start. I have to keep trying and the Engine starts after 5-10 attempts. (70% times). This thing is observed irrespective of the fact whether the car is being started in the morning, or was stopped after running 20 km. As part of repair, I have twice got the fuel pump changed, got injectors cleaned, got air filters changed, and so on. One of the mechanic told that i10 of 2009/2010 models have such problems.
Pl advice what could be the solution

there is a bulletin on fuel causing hard starts, so make sure the next time you fill up use gas that is only 10% alcohol not 15. so try another brand. we dont' have that model in the US here but it effects most Hyundais

I had exactly this problem with my Hyudai !10. Intermittent starting, sometimes from cold and sometimes from hot. I picked up some clues and tried the following.
1. Disconnected the battery negative and reconnected.
2. Lifted the air cleaner and sprayed the plug leads with WD40 equivalent.
3. When starting, first turn key to ignition point and wait a few secs for the fuel pump to kick in.
4. depress clutch and start.
problem solved !
The car has now started perfectly on ~50 occasions. .

About two weeks ago I went to my car in the morning and it would not start. I put it down to having left something on however continued to get this problem. Had my car put on machine to check battery and alternator which were fine. Took to several garages to be told eventually I needed an auto electrician which are am. possible to get in my area. I took it back to dealership and they said it was my battery. Brand new battery in it and it started fine for four days. On Saturday I went back to same issue and I am at a loss. When I get a jump start it starts straight away with no problems, it runs fine all day and I even left it in my work car park for eight hour shift and afterwards it started fine. I even set my alarm for middle of the night to go out and turn it over last night and it started fine. This morning, six hours later nothing. It has now started to guzzle petrol and is slower to accelerate. The power comes on it it, but it makes a loud clicking when it is trying to start. Could it be my soak plugs? I have also been told my starter motor is not pulling power from my battery.
