I would like to know what codes are set in the ECU, can you get a scan done when it fails and post any set codes?

You can't test ECU's your self, there are speclist techs that can do this, the alternator should have around 13.6V -14.6 there abouts at the main terminal running at fast idle this will depend on load and battery condition.
