I would like to know what the factory recommends about type of brake pad replacement. My store sells semi metallic for the front but only ceramic for the rear. Is it ok to use different types front to rear? Thanks.

Hello,

You can use different type of brake for the front and rear. Just keep in mind that they will have different wear and dust characteristics.
Even though it will impact the way the brake works, it will be a good idea to use the same compound just so the wear and dust characteristics are same.

Here are couple of helpful guides on brake replacement:

Keep in mind that you will need a special tool to retract the rear caliper pistons back into the housing.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
