Hear a rattling noise while driving and someone believes that it the valve train?? And I would need to replace the engine?? Isn't that a bit extreme.....

Have someone with a trained ear hear the noise. They can tell you right away if it is the valves. And no, that doesn't mean the engine needs replaced.
