2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Engine Light Came On Took Car Autozone Test Told

My engine light came on and I took my car to autozone to test for the problem. I was told my camshaft losition sensor was out. Bought a new one, replaced it, engine light is still on and car kinda chugs when its idling. Is this a timing problem? Or something much worse? I did NOT reset my timing qhen I replaced the sensor. I'm due for emissions testing soon and need to fux this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

just because you get that codes doesn'tmean that is theproblem. it may be a cam actuator not a sensor. have apro look at it.
