Battery light goes on and off then engine runs hot shut down whenreaches214then cranks back when temp. drops Chevy can find nothing wrong can you give any ideas

check fan belt and tensioner recommended replacement is 60k that may be the alternator problem. for overheat, check rad for cold spots if there are any rad is no good. also have coolant system pressure checked for internal leak.s
