When I go to move the gear shift into reverse, park or drive -- sometimes the release at the top of the gear shift (this is where you push it in to move the stick into R,D,P) doesn't move. I squeeze it but it seems to get stuck occasionally?. Is there anything that I can do to alleviate this problem

have the cable checked as it may be sticking or it may need to be replaced.
