my buick lucerne has almost 60000 miles. Should I change the brake pads only?
The shop is telling wait for the scratching noise but that always costs me the rotors too. They are saying somewhere around 75000 miles?
I have never had brakes last this long. There is no grinding or scratching as yet.
It would seem replacing the pads would be good preventative maintenance and I might get more life out of the rotors. OR are they now all designed to fail together?

How many millimeters of pad do you have left from the backing plate of the brake pad?
