The manufacturer isn't going to matter because all of them are going to build their brake parts to original specifications. Every car manufacturer works real hard to design the brake system with the perfect front-to-rear braking. You seriously mess that up when you lower a car or lift a truck. Beyond that, all brake linings will have the same coefficient of friction as the originals.
What you CAN do to adversely affect braking is to machine used rotors to different sizes. You usually won't notice that on cars, but as little as.007" difference between a pair of truck rotors that are well over an inch thick can cause a horrendous and unexpected brake pull. That's from the rotors building a higher temperature at different rates. That temperature changes the coefficient of friction on the linings resulting in stopping in a straight line one hard stop, and a hard, surprising brake pull a few seconds later.
