Wipers do not work. What is going on? I went on we did not demand for them and will not work when I need them. This is for the front windshield. 2009 a recall was issued for this issue. Does anyone know what I need to do?

If there is a recall just call your local Volvo dealer and give them your VIN number to see if there is a recall and if it applies to your vehicle. Forgot to mention the recall is for a CEM software update. Recall number is 36-213. There is also a comfort function relay that needs to be checked here is guide to help you find out if that is the problem.

There are three fuses that needs ot checked as well.

Here are the wiper wiring and the fuse box and relay diagrams for your car (below)

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers

Four cylinder all wheel drive automatic 122,000 miles

I tried to operate my windshield wipers with snow on the windshield this morning and now they will not work. The washer fluid still works and the back wiper works, it is just the two front ones that are not moving. Help!

Hi, how can I get to lower part of the engine compartment fuse box? I need to replace R9 relay, responsible for the non working wipers.
Thank you

The relay that controls the wipers is R8 and it is in the engine compartment on the drivers side. Remove the fuse box cover to access the relay. Are you sure the relay is the problem and not a software issue?

I have exactly the same problem on my XC70. The question is how do you remove the upper fuse/relay holder to expose the lower fuse holder?

I removed the 10mm nut but the holder appears to be in a gray plastic case that is mysteriously attached to the main box.

The lower holder that contains:

No. No. Fuse function
F9 11B/9 6/1 Wiper Motor Module (WMM)

It appears this is a relay that must be or a fuse? Did you have to go to the dealer to have this replaced, did it fix the wiper problem and appoximately how much is the WMM?

Thank you
