i was on motorway earlier i was going up hiss so i shifted to 4th gear as i lifted clutch a cloud of white smoke came out any ideas its 1.6 sxi corsa 08 plate thanks

Have you had any problems with the engine overheating or have you had to add coolant to it lately?
I'm suspecting coolant is getting into the combustion chamber, however much more info is needed. Let me know.

Iv had no problems before with it yesterday was the first time I have done quite a few miles in it and I don't know if it overheated as there no temp gage on dash and no lights came on I have done the pedal test and it was all 0's so no faults and the coolant levels seem fine I stopped the engine for 5 mins after this happened and it went back to normal

Another question. Did you check the engine oil level? (If the engine is burning oil it will sometimes blow out a puff of lite blue smoke (often seen as white smoke) in a situation like you described in the original post. Please check the engine oil and let me know what its like.

Other than that one incident, how is the vehicle driving now? Has it blown out any more white smoke?
