Today, the car would not start. The battery appears to be good and I can hear the sound of it wanting to turn over, but doesn't. What could be the problem?

try jump starting the vehicle to bypass the possibility of a weak battery. If you can jumo start it, have the battery tested at an autoparts store like autozone or advance auto parts (they;ll do it for FREE).
