My check engine light is on, cruise light is flashing, and the car started struggling to gain speed when accelerating, nearest town is 40 miles

Will i make it into town to have it checked? I am home now because the problem started 10 miles before my house but i live 45 minutes from a town. I am not sure if I should try to go to town to go to the dealership. Also, when i try to accelerate the check engine light starts flashing.

That is a lot to have going on. If you don't have an oil pressure gauge and coolant temperature gauge, I would not reccomend it. In fact I really don't reccomend driving it in that condition but making sure you have oil pressure and it is not overheating is a minimum. This does not mean that something is not wrong with the transmission and every mile you drive it is costing you hundreds of dollars.
It is best to get it towed with so much going on.

The vehicle is in limp mode. If you turn the engine off and restart and problem seems to go away, it is safe to drive for a while but do not attempt to push it hard. Gentle driving is the key.
