is the transmission going out

about a week ago my car started******** a little bit when i would accelerate and today it wouldnt even reverse and it wont switch past the second gear while im driving

The best place to start is by going to your local Advance or Auto Zone and have them run the Diganostic Trouble Codes.
Come back to us when you get them and it will be a tremendous help in the porcess of elimination in daignosing your car.
