blower motor was only working at speed 4

2008 Astra blower motor was only working at speed 4. Stopped working and I found the 30 amp fuse blown. I will replace the fuse and fan (fan wobbles like bearings are gone) but based on other speeds not working for a month prior to fan stopping I want to bench test the resistor.

Sounds like the bad fan motor took out the resistor.I would test the resistor in the car alot easier then out of the car.
