The oil light flickers on and off I had the oil change to see if it was low on oil. I've checked the oil cap could it be the oil pump going out

If you have maintained the engine with regular oil changes, it shouldn't be a big issue. The first thing I have to ask is, do you hear any knocking or ticking from the engine when the light comes on? If not, I would suspect the oil pressure sensor is going bad. To confirm that there isn't a pressure issue, you can get a mechanical pressure gauge from a parts store and check to see what the pressure is with the engine running.

Let me know if you have additional questions.
