So I was driving home and from a jolting action of accidentally putting my sentra into drive I started hearing a rattle as well as my engine sounding just a little bit louder like someone took a noise damper off it. When me and a fellow co-worker looked at it, we deduced that it was the exhaust pipe rumbling against the chasis of the car. We also saw that the couple connecting the pipe to the engine was shaking a little. I just want to know how difficult and expensive of a problem this could be. I have a shop near me that for about 10 bucks will allow me to use lifts, tools, etc. Just need an expert opinion before I touch my car.

I would be checking for a failed engine mount and loose exhaust first, is the engine running smoothly?

Yes, there are no other noises or problems that we can tell and the exhaust is the only thing we see loose.

Ok, just tighten it up and see how it goes.
