engine that does not start

i have a mitsubishi canter fuso diesel engine that does not start. the car starts only when the yellow check engine light is on. when its off the car does not start. what can be the problem ?

This sounds like a bad PCM I would try to find a used one and plug it in to see what happens.

Yep you nailed it, as soon as i replaced the engine computer the truck fired right up :) thanks for your expertise.
