The coupling rubber in the first section from the transmission is broken. As a result I am wondering if the driveshaft is removed will the vehicle be able to operate as a front wheel drive . I live in the Caribbean an this part is very hard to source .

you could try it but I wouldn't it will probably set a code of some sort then your fuel mileage will go bad.
