Windshield wipers shuddered, slowed, and came to a halt mid-wipe on my 2008 Mazda 3. Switch has no effect now. Possibilities for troubleshooting?

remove and refit the connectors? tap motor to see if it moves again? brushes may be worn down.

yah the sun has arrived here too! another thing to check is the motor/assembly ground. see if ther's an actual ground strap or just cross screwdriver from motor bracket to mount bolt.

Thanks. Tried the suggestions. Had to take to dealer. Learned that the motor is back ordered. Leads me to believe this is a widespread issue for this model year. Safety recall down the road?
