What is the problem and solution for a blinking A/C light?

Car stalled out a few times. Noticed that A/C light was flashing. Shut off A/C. Car drove fine, but without A/C.

could be a compressor locking up.

first thing you do is have the code pulled for the ac failure. then proceed from there.
