My kia sportage has been stalling while idling, and the engine light is on, replaced air filter, and checked gas cap already. Mechanic finds nothing. All fluids are full. Any thoughts?

If the engine light is on, an error has been detected by the engine computer. A scan tool should be able to retrieve the trouble code. Let me know the EXACT trouble code retrieved.

Yes, there must be a code, eg Pxxxx, xxxx denoting numeric numbers.
Fuel trim lean could be P0171.

P0170 = Fuel Trim (Bank 1)
P0173 = Fuel Trim (Bank 2)
P0174 = System Too Lean (Bank 2)

Problem is with the HO2S ( Heated Oxygen Sensors), not the MAP.

Here are the diagnostic proceduers.
