My car was very infrequently simply cutting off (occured about 4 times over a two week pweriod), shutting down without a warning. No light came on. The fuel pump was changed. It seemed to alleviate the problem but a few days latter the stalling occured again. This time the Ck Eng came on and it was diagnosed as the Crank Shaft Sensor. It was replaced. Things were OK for a few days and now when tryimg to start the car and you crank the ignition you get a prolonged cranking, not ignition, and then another attempt and then sometimes it turns over, sometimes it needs another attempt and it will start. Sometimes it starts on the first attempt. The plugs and coils were changed and they appear to be clean. The car was sprayed with a gunk to clean it out but they said it was pretty clean anyway. Why is the car cranking and not turning over? I've never had a problem like this.
