How do I replace the driver's side low beam. I've taken the dust shield off the back of the light fixture and it appears the bulb is secured by two screws and a spring affair. I cannot get a screwdriver In there to remove the screws. Is there an easier way?

Hello,

It looks like you will need to remove the headlight lens to remove the bulbs here are diagrams and instructions on how to change out the headlamp bulbs. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

The headlights won't need readjusted. The only time that is needed is if you have the entire assembly replaced. The bulb will not hurt the adjustment.

Open the hood of your Optima. Locate the two screws on the inner corner of the headlight assembly, next to the grill area. Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

Locate the screw inside the engine compartment on the top side of the headlight assembly. Remove the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

Pull the headlight assembly forward out of the front of the car. Pull the wiring harness connections out of the sockets. Press the retaining tabs down when you pull the connection back to release it.

Press the electrical connections into the harness connectors on the new headlight assembly. Insert the headlight assembly in the mounting area on the front of the car.

Insert the upper retaining screw and tighten it with a Phillips screwdriver. Insert the two lower retaining screws and tighten them with a Phillips screwdriver. Close the hood and test the operation of the new lights.
