I drove my car today at 7am. Then locked up the car and parked it at home. The keys in my house and no one home. When I left to go somewhere with my husband in his truck, I walked right by my car. When we backed up, I was facing my back end. No one noticed the parking brake lights on. I add all this to say they were not on when we left. When we arrived home, my back lights were on and the parking lights were on in the front. The keys were in my cabinet in the house. No one was home and no one around. What would cause this?

Did you leave the light switch on? SORRY BUT I HAD TO ASK. Were you able to shut them?

Yes. I know you have to ask. But I always leave it on when I turn the ignition off. It was the parking light and back side panel lights that were on. It has never done this before. Also three people passed my house and never noticed them on. All I did to resolve it was I opened the door, cranked the car right up and the lights went off and the headlights came on. Then they did not come back on when I turned the ignition off. After waiting about five minutes to see if they would go on, I turned the lights off to make sure they dont. Any suggestions?

My lights go off when the ignition is turned off. These were not my headlights. They were the parking lights and back parking lights.

The only thing I can think of that can cause the lights to come on with everything off is a short to power. Has it happened since then?

No it has not. I wondered if someone had not tried to break into the car or something and the alarm did not go off. Or the alarm went off but only lasted a while. Then the lights stayed on. Is that possible?
