The last couple of days my speedometer quit working. This morning I noticed that my trip and ODO numbers were not changing (these two are digital). I am taking the car to a mechanic later today to evaluate it; but, I was curious if it is something as simple as a fuse/loose cable, or if it is more likely an electical issue (cluster issue)? Thanks for the information!

My local shop told me to purchase a new panel for the odometer-speedometer-tachometer-gas gauge, which I did. Now, not even Hyundai dealership can tell my guys how to program the odometer. Please help! Hyundai USA just referred me back to local dealership.

Hello and thank you for using 2CarPros. I am sorry for your frustration and I will do what I can to help.
In all states that I know of it is illegal to change the mileage on any odometer. Even if you can prove you set it to the same mileage. The only ones who can to my knowledge are dealerships. They can do it, but will they or do they have someone trained to do it I am sure will vary. You may need to call several to find one that will.

I am sorry, please let us know if you get it resolved. We love good news.

Rich.

Odometers are usually programmed with the instrument cluster at the facility that rebuilds and repairs them. When I order clusters I have to tell the parts person the mileage so they can program it.

The speedometer has stopped working. Told it could be a blown fuse. What fuse controls the speedometer? And what else could it be? I looked at both fuse boxes and could not determine which fuse is for the speedometer. Could you point me to the fuse?

I've looked on many different websites and they all point to the VSS as the blame for the speedometer failure. At first, it wobbled up and down, then after a few days, just won't move. How do I get to the VSS and how do I replace it? Where can I go to get a replacement?
